YouTube has
introduced a new feature called Super Chat for all those live video streamers
and their viewers. Super Chat has been
introduced by YouTube along with some creators such as Great Library, Alex Wassabi,
and iHasCupquake. The company has added
the official launch of the feature for creators will be on January 31 in 20
countries and viewers in more than 40 countries.
As Google stated this new
feature will help deepen the relationship between streamers and their fans. As
we all know that live streaming is the popular
method used by main bloggers, gamers, and many other digital personalities who have been subscribed by the millions. And
this feature will provide streamers an opportunity to make money on their live
content.
“Anybody watching a live stream can
purchase a Super Chat: a highlighted message in the chat stream that stands out
from the crowd to get even more of your favourite
creator's attention. And Super Chats remain pinned to the top of chat for up to
5 hours, giving more airtime for your messages,” wrote Barbara Macdonald,
Product Manager YouTube, in a blog post.
According to
Macdonald, the Super Chat has two benefits for the content creators. One is
that the Super Chat will keep helping their conversation and connections with
Super Fans more meaningful. Other is that it will provide them to earn money at the same time. This is one of the very
important steps by Google team taking in
mind many YouTubers who primarily rely on their channels to generate revenue
from it.
Google is
bidding farewell to all the older platform called ‘Fan Funding’ which the
company launched back in 2014. Fan Funding will stop accepting new sign-ups
from today but can continue to be used on
some enabled channels until February 28, when it will be stopped.
